Our Services

The CDC is situated at the front of Upperby Primary School. The CDC has full disabled access.

Upperby CDC aims to promote self-belief, generate new skills, foster community spirit and further job prospects through giving information and advice.

Services On Offer at The CDC

On-line resources via various web sites.

A drop-in information and advice service to help you with any initial enquiries regarding learning and future employment.

One to one interviews with staff and, where appropriate, a written action plan summarising the outcome of your interview.

Assistance with putting together a CV, filling in job applications etc.

Referral to other agencies if appropriate, to assist in achieving your end goal.

Assistance may be available in other formats i.e. large print, other languages, please ask a member of staff if you require special assistance.

Various courses to enable you to further your qualifications and job prospects.

Who Can Use The Service?

Anyone over the age of 16 years, who live in the community.

Information and Advice is free to everyone, but there is a charge for printing CV’s.

Courses on offer through our centre vary in price depending on the level of course. (A separate leaflet is available for courses on offer).

What You Can Expect From The CDC?

To be greeted politely and professionally in an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere.

To have queries dealt with impartially, confidentially, effectively and with the appropriate information supplied.

To receive comprehensive information and advice so you can make your own informed choices and decisions.

Qualified and informed staff.

To be treated equally, regardless of age, race, gender or religion.

Information which needs to be forwarded, to be sent to you within four working days.

Adhering to the Codes of Practice and principles set out by the National IAG Board.

When and How You Can Access Our Services

Information and advice services are available from:-
9:00am to12 noon and 1:00pm to 4pm and 6:pm to 9:00pm Monday to Thursday
9:00am to12 noon and 1:00pm to 3pm Friday.

You can drop into the centre at any time without an appointment to see one of our team or by prior appointment, telephoning 01228 607569.

What Does the Centre Expect From You?

To try to attend your appointment at the specified time and to inform us if you are unable to keep your appointment.

To respect the values, beliefs and opinions of other clients using the centre and treat people you come into contact with, with courtesy and consideration.

To treat all the facilities with the centre with care and respect.

To provide feedback on the services you receive.

Third Party Involvement

The CDC is funded by a number of different bodies, who may wish to access client records for auditing purposes. This information would only be released with the full agreement of the client.

What Do You Think Of Our Services? Comments and Compliments

We welcome all feedback. If you are happy with the service you have received or if you have any suggestions on how we can improve the services we offer, please let us know.

The CDC will issues questionnaires during courses and the results will be evaluated at team meetings and recommendations will be considered and implemented if and when possible.

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, you can make a complaint to the centre via our grievance policy (available upon request).

Complaints will be dealt with within 10 working days and you will be informed of any outcomes. You will then have 10 working days to respond, if you do not respond in the given time, we will assume the outcome is satisfactory. If you dispute the outcome, we will pass on the complaint to the relevant body.
